By Jani Arnaiz

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte – Maasin City expatriates in United Arabs Emirates will group together to foster camaraderie and to help each other in time of needs.

The group will be named Grand Association of Maasinhon Expatriates in UAE.

In an email message, Engineer Sofronio “Loloy” Caberte said the meeting and probably the election of officers and ratification of the constitution and by-laws of the association will be held at Zaabel Park, near Gate 1 Dubai on November 28, 2009.

Caberte said, they are calling on all Maasinhons now working in the United Arab Emirates and encourage others to attend “this momentous event.”

“Be apart in forming this association. Help us in building a shelter, a refuge or sanctuary for all of us here in UAE,” said Caberte.

He asked all Maasinhons in the UAE to inform any Maasinhons in the Emirates of the meeting.

The registration will start at 10:00 and the election at 2:00 p.m. It’s a BYOP.

Maasinhons are natives of Maasin City in Southern now working in the UAE. Most of the OFWs coming from Maasin City are engineers, accountants and others are graduates of Saint Joseph College.
