Maasinhons group in UAE elect officers

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte – Maasinhons who are now working at the United Arab Emirates have elected the pioneering officers of the newly formed Grand Association of Maasinhon Expatriates in UAE.

GAME U was formed with the noble objective of helping Maasinhon expatriates in UAE and foster camaraderie among themselves.

Elected officers were Sofronio “Loloy” Caberte, Jr., president, Fidel Alejandria, vice president, Arvin Dajao, treasurer, Eppie Duarte, secretary.

Directors are: Dario Calapre, Jose “Jun” Acasio, Rizalito “ Riz” Gumapac, Virgilio “Gil” Equipilag, Arcelito “Lito” Grava, Rodrigo “Rudy”Gamalo and Fortunato “Nato” Hordista, Jr.

At least 48 Maasinhons (are residents of Maasin City in Southern Leyte now working in UAE) have joined the group.

In his message, Caberte congratulated the officers and members of GAME U and expressed his gratitude of the trust and confidence bestowed on him by the members.

“I’m giving you my assurance to stand firm on our commitment and to pursue our goals and aspirations; to perform our duties to the best of our abilities,” Caberte said.

“A long journey begins with a single step as the saying goes. But the event we have had was a big leap for us as shown by our enthusiasm and eagerness for the organization to succeed,” added Caberte in an email to this author.

The induction of officers and Christmas party will be held on December 17 (Thursday) at 8:00pm, in Dubai.

    This was a good move initiated by the people stated above, since a lot of Maasinhons are already working in the UAE.

    I was actually their to witness the event and it was really nice seeing your fellow Maasinhons, it made me feel like I was home again, Photos for the said even can be seen on the link provided below.
