ORMOC CITY – City Mayor Eric C. Codilla is mulling over the creation of new items at the city health department to augment its present manpower.
Codilla said he had discussed on Monday with City Health Unit head Dr. Nelita Navales to present what are the needed items especially now that the extension of the city health service at the five district buildings is operational already.
Earlier this year the five 3-in-1 buildings located in Brgys. Valencia, San Pablo, Ipil, Curva and Linao are strategically clustered became operational serving barangays within the area.
In the 3-in-1 building the mezzanine of this edifice is used by the City Health Department, while the second floor is divided by the Philippine National Police and the City Social Worker and Development Office.
Mayor Codilla pointed out that the last items created for the City Health Department were still in 1991 when the department was still in one roof at the Government Center in Brgy. Cogon.
But he said with the creation of the 3-in-1 buildings, the need for the creation of new items is considered necessary because it needs additional manpower. He added that its 3-in-1 building has its delivery room and dental equipments thus the need for the people to maintain these equipment has become necessary.
Mayor Codilla emphasized that should there be need for additional nurse or midwife, this item should approved.
He said that at present all its district buildings each have a doctor, nurse, midwife, and a dentist. And because of the magnitude of the area that they are serving there is also need to enhance their manpower.
.
Mayor Codilla added that if these items are created those who will qualify for the position will be employed as casual/plantilla employees.
